VoteVets Vows to Join Efforts to Defeat Latest Muslim Ban

WASHINGTON, DC –(ENEWSPF)—March 6, 2017.  The largest progressive group of veterans in America, VoteVets, is reiterating its opposition to the latest version of Donald Trump’s Muslim ban, and is questioning the timing of the release of the ban itself.

In a statement, Will Fischer, Iraq War Veteran and VoteVets Director of Government Relations said in a statement:

“This misguided executive order undermines the work our troops are currently doing to defeat ISIS, and endangering their lives, by once again sending the message that this is a war against Islam, particularly Muslims from the Middle East.

“We wholeheartedly agree with the two leaked DHS memos stating that the rationale behind Donald Trump’s Muslim ban is faulty. Therefore, VoteVets will continue to join all lawsuits to stop this executive order in its tracks and protect our troops, and our nation’s security.

“It must also be noted that this executive order is being rushed out in a moment when Donald Trump’s sanity is under real question. Donald Trump’s paranoid reaction to an article in Breitbart, this weekend, inspires no confidence that he is of sound mind, and in any shape to be in command of our military and nuclear arsenal, let alone sign executive orders.”

Founded in 2006, and backed by over 500,000 supporters, the mission of VoteVets.org is to use public issue campaigns and direct outreach to lawmakers to ensure that troops abroad have what they need to complete their missions, and receive the care they deserve when they get home.  VoteVets.org also recognizes veterans as a vital part of the fabric of our country and will work to protect veterans’ interests in their day-to-day lives.   VoteVets.org is committed to the destruction of terror networks around the world – with force when necessary – to protect America. While non-partisan, the group is the largest progressive organization of veterans in America.
