5 Facts You Need to Know About Immigrants and Our Economy


Washington, D.C.–(ENEWSPF)–August 5, 2014.  In June 2013, the Senate passed a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would provide a pathway to citizenship for the country’s undocumented people and give a boost to our economy. A year later, the House has failed to act and Congress continues to dither on immigration reform.

A new video released by the Center for American Progress highlights five facts about the positive effects of immigration reform on our nation’s economy, among them the fact that legal status increases workers’ earning power; the additional taxes that the newly legal would contribute; and that immigration reform would decrease our federal budget deficit.
