A New Poll Out States What Most People Already Know – Time To Legalize
OREGON--(ENEWSPF)--March 30, 2012. A new poll was released yesterday by Rasmussen Reports that states 47% of people surveyed support ending marijuana prohibition, versus 42% that want to keep marijuana illegal. 10% of respondents were undecided. I was talking to a genius political strategist friend who was pointing out that there are a significant amount of people that are polled about marijuana legalization that say no in the survey, but vote the other way at the ballot box. That’s because they don’t want to state in public that they support ending marijuana prohibition for a variety of reasons, but when asked to vote their conscience, they vote for what’s right in the end.
Below is the report from Rasmussen Reports. They provided a broken link to their sample questions. When they update their link, we will make sure to update ours below:
More Americans than ever support legalizing and taxing marijuana. They remain less supportive of so-called “sin taxes” on soda and junk food.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of American Adults shows that 47% now believe the country should legalize and tax marijuana in order to help solve the nation’s fiscal problems. Forty-two percent (42%) disagree, while 10% are undecided.
The survey of 1,000 Adults nationwide was conducted on March 24-25, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
