ISAF Condems the Killing and Wounding of Children by Roadside Bombings

KABUL, Afghanistan–(ENEWSPF)–October 31, 2012 – The International Security Assistance Force condemns the four roadside bombings in Kandahar and Uruzgan provinces that killed three children and severely injured several other children yesterday and over the Eid holidays.

“I condemn these terrible acts, which are an affront to Afghan people and their desire for peace.  I offer my condolences to the families of these children,” said Gen. John R. Allen, the ISAF commander.

Mullah Omar, in his recent Eid ul-Odha message, called on his followers to, “pay full attention to the prevention of civilian casualties.”

“It is highly disingenuous of Mullah Omar to repeatedly call for protecting Afghan civilians while his assassins continue to plant bombs that kill and maim innocent civilians.  Their deaths come only days after the suicide bombing at a Faryab mosque which killed dozens of worshippers.  Omar and the rest of the enemies of Afghanistan know no bounds and express no remorse when they slaughter innocent people,” said Gen. Allen.
