Kris Jordan leads a crusade to punish Ohio women
In less time than a woman has to wait to have an abortion after seeing a doctor in Ohio, Republicans rammed through a surprise bill that is one of the most extreme in the nation, banning abortions as soon as a heartbeat is detected, which can happen at six weeks into pregnancy.
The author of the bill is, of course, a conservative male member of the Ohio legislature, state Sen. Kris Jordan. Instead of helping create jobs in Ohio, bolstering public education, addressing the crippling opiate epidemic that an estimated 200,000 Ohioans suffer from every day, Kris Jordan and the Republican-led legislature are uber-focused on regulating women’s bodies. Again.
Jordan found himself in trouble in 2011 when his wife called the police to report a domestic violence situation in their home. She told police she normally called her parents when the situation escalated, but they were out of town at the time. The Columbus Dispatch has details of the audio recorded by a police officer’s dash cam:
“She got a little upset,” Sen. Jordan told a deputy on the recording. “Girls do that.”
The 34-year-old senator went on to say the incident was “90 percent emotion.”
So, it was 10% physical? How physical does it have to get before it crosses over into unacceptable territory? Melissa Jordan also told the deputy his behavior that night was not the least bit unusual:
She also was recorded as saying violent incidents with her husband began about two years ago, sometimes after he had been drinking. She said her husband had been drinking that night but not to excess.
“This is not new,” Mrs. Jordan, 31, said. “He’s done this numerous times, and I just got sick of it and I just had to call.”
She also told deputies there were 10 to 15 unloaded guns in the house.
Prosecutors did not move forward with charges after Melissa Jordan pleaded with them to drop the case. But is it any wonder a man like this is so hellbent on pushing forward with a bill designed to punish women? Hell to the NO. Can you imagine the temper tantrum he’d be throwing if we tried to legislate his penis guns? He’s Exhibit A why we need to recruit more women to run for office. Time to run these abusive clowns out of government.
