Donald Trump Hands National Security to Islamophobic Jackass Michael Flynn; KKK’s David Duke Thrilled with Announcement

CLEVELAND, OH - JULY 18: Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn delivers a speech on the first day of the Republican National Convention on July 18, 2016 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. An estimated 50,000 people are expected in Cleveland, including hundreds of protesters and members of the media. The four-day Republican National Convention kicks off on July 18. “Lock her up! Lock her up! Damn right! Exactly right!” Flynn encouraged the chanting crowd. “There is nothing wrong with that!”

The days of not trusting Donald Trump’s judgement are definitely coming to a middle. The future leader of the free world has selected as National Security Adviser a man who, even more than Trump, draws his conclusions from the worst of fake news sites and who has continually defended bigotry and hatred while talking down the United States at Vladimir Putin’s dinner table. Why select him? Because of his Trump-level temperament.

… Flynn was forced out — accused, by officials speaking not for attribution, of being a bad manager who left a chaos in his wake. Initially quiet but increasingly embittered, Flynn ultimately hitched his wagon to Donald Trump and began to appear at rallies complaining of Hillary Clinton’s “criminal activity” in stark language that stunned many of his former colleagues.

It’s not just his attacks on Clinton that have gone way over the top. Even in Trump’s coterie of conspiracy theorists, Flynn stands out for his hard line hatred of all things Muslim. And it’s not like he’s hiding it.

If that’s not enough, Flynn’s also a torture fan who thinks war crimes are a great negotiating stance.

Flynn also refused to come out against Trump’s proposal to kill the families of terror suspects as a counter-terrorism strategy, saying that he “would have to see what the circumstances of that situation were.”

In the best circumstances, the National Security Adviser is someone not afraid to tell the President when he’s wrong. That’s not Flynn.

Flynn’s willingness to defend Trump’s proposals puts into question former CIA director Michael Hayden’s claim that some members of the U.S. military would refuse to follow some of Trump’s most controversial proposals during the campaign, like the killing of terror suspects’ families, if he were elected.

Flynn is down with torture, going after families, bombing civilians and of course the ban on immigration.

Not only has he abandoned all honor in favor of getting revenge on the people who booted him from power, he relies on the white nationalist fake news industry to “inform” his positions.

Yes, the new National Security Adviser of the United States insisted that everyone read an article contending that those last-minute emails show Hillary Clinton was involved in child sex trafficking. That’s exactly the kind of discretion and discernment you want in a man who tells the president when to drop a bomb.

Spurning the decorum traditionally expected of retired U.S. flag officers, Flynn became a fervent campaigner for Trump and was given a high-profile role speaking before the GOP convention, an appearance in which he led the crowd in “lock her up” chants against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

If you’re thinking that a man like might have some opposition when it comes to Senate approval, just relax. The National Security Adviser doesn’t need Senate approval.

So his Russian connection? That’s just dandy.

Flynn stunned former colleagues when he traveled to Moscow last year to appear alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin at a lavish gala for the Kremlin-run propaganda channel RT, a trip Flynn admitted he was paid to make and defended by saying he saw no distinction between RT and U.S. news channels such as CNN.

Whatever you want to say about CNN, the fact that Flynn can’t tell the difference between a US news channel and a propaganda arm of the Russian government isn’t just disheartening, it’s frightening.

However, there are some people thrilled at the announcement of Flynn’s appointment.
