Alleged Con Man Walks Off With Cash from Aqua Center

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Police are seeking a man who allegedly conned an employee at the Park Forest Aqua Center out of $160 cash on Monday, July 27.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on that date, an unknown male black subject wearing a white polo shirt, white jeans and a large shiny belt buckle walked up to the rear door of the Snack Shack, requesting to speak with a manager, according to police. The subject identified himself as an electrician from the Village of Park Forest. The employee contacted his boss on the phone. The employee handed the phone to the subject so he could speak with the manager about the work needed to fix a breaker box. The manager hung up on the subject, according to police.

The employee at the Aqua Center, unaware that his boss had hung up on the subject, continued his conversation with the subject to finalize payment options. The employee paid the subject $160 cash. The subject stated he would be right back with the receipt after he went to buy the replacement breakers.

The subject did not return.
