WASHINGTON--(ENEWSPF)-- November 14 - What: Following’s “Do the Math” event at the Warner Theatre, thousands will gather in Freedom Plaza and then march around the White House to show President Obama that he has their support if he stands up to Big Oil and says no to the destructive Keystone XL tar sands pipeline. A rally will follow the march and will feature Bill McKibben, Sierra Club President Allison Chin, Oklahoma-based environmental leader Earl Hatley, and music from folk singer Nahko.

Schedule of events:

1-3PM’sDo the Math event at the Warner Theater
3-3:15PM Marchers will assemble at Freedom Plaza
3:15-4 Marchers will circle the White House
4:30 Speaker and music.

Visuals: Marchers will carry a 500 foot “oil pipeline”, colorful banners, and over 500 signs containing quotes from President Obama about climate change. Photographers will be able to get amazing shots of the marchers together with the White House.

Why: With the election freshly behind him, President Obama can now fulfill his promises to tackle the climate crisis. If he's serious about tackling climate change, the President must reject the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline once and for all. The pipeline would unlock so much carbon pollution that the President’s own top climate scientist, Dr. James Hansen, said that if it were built it would be “game over” for the climate.
