Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- On Friday, January 29th, in conjunction with their “Hero” theme for the year, the IJP Fifth Grade Students were paid a surprise visit by the Marian Catholic High School (MCHS) Varsity Basketball Team.
The Fifth Grade Hero activities involve a different student decorating the class Hero board each week, telling the class about their own personal heroes, and then visitors are invited in as their Hero guests to share some of their talents with the class. Grandmothers (including Mrs. Charlotte Kelly’s Mom), grandfathers, moms and dads talk about their jobs, their cultures, do crafts and more with the students.
So, on Friday, the MCHS team, including three IJP alumni, chose to spend their afternoon off by helping the IJP fifth graders with Wax Museum word searches, having a pizza lunch with the class, going out at recess time with the students, and participating in their PE class, assisting them with dribbling and shooting skills.
