Automotive Class 1

CHICAGO HEIGHTS–(ENEWSPF)–November 5, 2015. The Automotive Program at Prairie State College (PSC) recently was reaccredited by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

NATEF’s mission is to “improve the quality of automotive technician training programs nationwide at secondary and post-secondary, public and proprietary schools.”

To be accredited, a school must meet the standards set by the industry in the structure, resources and quality of training programs.

According to NATEF, “[t]hese standards reflect the skills that students must master to be successful in the industry.”Automotive Class 2

NATEF also helps increase students’ career awareness opportunities in the automotive repair industry.

With this accreditation, PSC’s Automotive Technology Program offers students the necessary technology and skills to succeed in this exciting industry with an excellent career outlook. Students can pursue certification for employment in automotive servicing and repair, engine testing, automotive parts, automotive field service and shop management. Or, they can use their training at PSC toward two years of automotive apprenticeship or transfer to a four-year automotive power technology program.
