Prairie State College Offering New Associate Degree in Accounting and Business Management Beginning Fall 2015

CHICAGO HEIGHTS–(ENEWSPF)–April 17, 2015. Beginning in the fall 2015 semester, Prairie State College (PSC) is offering a new Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Accounting and Business Management.

This is a unique opportunity for those who are interested, as students can “Step Up” to the A.A.S. degree, while earning certificates in bookkeeping and accounting along the way. Courses in both the bookkeeping and accounting certificate programs overlap with the A.A.S. degree requirements, allowing students to apply credits earned in each certificate program to a subsequent certificate as well as the A.A.S. degree. As a result, some former students in either or both certificate programs may be well on their way to earning the A.A.S. degree.

Registration for fall begins April 20. The fall 2015 semester begins Aug. 11. For more information, contact Joe Berlinski, professor of business, at (708) 709-3565 or email [email protected].

The new A.A.S. degree is just one of the many programs offered at PSC. The college also offers associate degrees that prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions, associate degrees and certificates that prepare students for specific careers, and an associate degree that recognizes the completion of a broad range of college-level courses.

Registration for the summer semester is now open. There are two eight-week sessions in the summer. The first begins on May 26 and ends July 17. The second begins on June 8 and ends on July 31. For more information or to register, visit prairiestate.edu.
