SOUTH HOLLAND, IL—(ENEWSPF)—August 6, 2014. The Art & Design Department of South Suburban College (SSC) is pleased to present a new exhibition titled Welcome to Earth to open the college’s fall semester exhibits. Welcome to Earth is a select body of ceramic sculptures from Chicago based artist Matthew Groves that will be on display in the Dorothea Thiel Gallery at the South Holland Campus August 18 through September 15, 2014.
Figurative and narrative, the work reflects Groves’ unique point of view, demonstrates his passion for craft and traditional forms, and recognizes ceramics as a vital cultural medium.
The public is welcome to visit art exhibitions and receptions at no charge. The Thiel Gallery is on the 4th floor in the Art & Design hallway. SSC Galleries are open at minimum Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The galleries are closed on weekends and holidays.
