Marian Catholic Speech Team Placed 1st at Tree Tournament

Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Marian Catholic High School’s Speech Team took first place, with a 25 point lead, at the Tree Tournament on Saturday, December 1, 2012.

“The Marian Speech team dominated the tournament because of strong focus and preparation,” said Mark Donaway, Marian Catholic Speech Team Head Coach.

Leading team members included; Tiffany Pia Lyander ’13, Hazel Crest, first in Dramatic Interpretation and Humorous Interpretation; Cristen Milliner ’14, Richton Park, first in Impromptu Speaking and fifth in Informative Speaking; Regina Hoyles ’14, Olympia Fields, first in Original Comedy and third in Informative Speaking; Jasmine Jackson ’13, Country Club Hills, first in Special Occasion Speaking; Kyliah Thompson ’14, Richton Park, second in Oratorical Declamation and sixth in Prose Reading; Hannah Lang ’13, Monee, third in Poetry Reading; Emerson Pavur ’15, Monee, third in Prose Reading; Daniel Blewitt ’14, Crete, and Kyle Fitzgerald ’13, Park Forest, fourth in Dramatic Duet Acting; Scott Mlcoch ’13, Munster, Ind., fourth in Extemporaneous Speaking; Laura Hilger ’14, Oak Forest, fifth in Dramatic Interpretation; Marcus Webster ’15, Hazel Crest, fifth in Extemporaneous Speaking; Desiree McCray ’14, Country Club Hills, fifth in Poetry Reading; Lexi Humphrey ’15, Chicago Heights, sixth in Prose Reading; Megan Ringo ’14, Crete, sixth in Radio Reading; and Finalist included Jasmin Weaver’13, Calumet City.
