Recall Summary

Name of product:  Tealight Wax Warmer sets

Hazard:  The tealights in the warmers can burn with an erratic or high flame, posing fire and burn hazards.

Recall Details

In conjunction with Canada

Units:  About 209,000 sets in the United States and 23,000 sets in Canada

Description:  This recall involves ceramic tealight warmer sets that include four tealight candles, four sets of scented wax cubes for melting, and a ceramic warmer with a metal stand and a glass dish to hold the wax cubes.  The ceramic tealight warmers are white with a green glass dish or brown with an orange glass dish for the wax cubes. “Essenza” is printed on the front of the packaging and Costco item number #852473 is printed on the sides of the packaging.

Incidents/Injuries:  Olympic Mountain Products has received 22 reports of tealights with erratic or high flames, including two minor burn injuries to consumers and one incident resulting in minor property damage.

Remedy:  Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tealight wax warmer sets and return them to Costco for a full refund. Costco is contacting its customers directly.

Sold exclusively at:  Costco Wholesale stores nationwide from August 2014 through October 2014 for about $20.
