Dimension Industries Recalls Outdoor Dining Chairs Due to Fall Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Costco

Recall Summary

Name of product: Fairview 7-Piece Patio Woven Dining Set

Hazard:  The legs of the chairs can bend and break, posing a fall hazard to the user.

Recall Details

Units:  About 6,700

Description:  The recall includes the chairs sold with the Fairview 7-piece woven patio dining set. The set includes an 80” long by 42” wide by 29” high rectangular table with a tan with white border porcelain tile table top and black metal framed base and six chairs. The chairs have a black metal frame with brown woven wicker seats and seatbacks. The chairs measure 24” wide by 27” deep by 40” high. “7 piece Woven Dining Set” and “Imported by Costco Wholesale” is printed on the product packaging. The item number is printed on the instructions sold with the set and reads “ITM./ART. 966630.”

Incidents/Injuries:  Dimension has received three reports of the chair legs bending or breaking and causing falls, including one consumer who bumped his head when falling.

Remedy:  Consumers should immediatelystop using the recalled chairs and contact the firm for instructions on receiving a full refund for the set. Costco has contacted its customers directly.

Sold exclusively at:  Costco Wholesale stores nationwide from January 2014 to March 2014 for about $1,300 per set.
