Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. It is the policy of eNews Park Forest to not remove items in the public record from publication. A juvenile was arrested on March 6 and issued a municipal citation charging theft when an officer patrolling in the first block of Main Street was flagged down by a passerby who told the officer of a juvenile who was inside of CVS Pharmacy soliciting for money inside the store.

An officer was dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department on March 6 to investigate a report of fraud. A resident reported numerous problems she encountered in her business partnership with a Chicago businessman after the business failed. Police are investigating.

Police say $1100 in video equipment, a Dell computer valued at $600, and various items of jewelry and coins were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Kentucky Street on March 6.

Two juveniles were arrested on March 7 and charged with obstructing a police officer when police were dispatched to court H-3 off Western Ave. to investigate a report of a large fight.

A door of a residence in the 300 block of Windsor Street was reported damaged on March 7.

A juvenile was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct when police were dispatched to a disturbance that was taking place inside a school bus at the intersection of Westgate Drive and Wilson Street.

Amber L. Grim, 41, 283 Park Terrace, South Chicago Heights, was issued a citation charging operating an uninsured motor vehicle when police responded to the 300 block of Sauk Trail to investigate a report of an accident between two vehicles.

Jarron C. Echols, 20, 502 Wildwood Dr., Park Forest, was arrested on March 8 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Washington Street to investigate a report of domestic battery.

A cell phone valued at $250 was reported stolen from a student at Forest Trail Middle School, 215 Wilson Street, on March 8.

Jami A. Fantasia, 23, 43 W. 26th St., Chicago Heights, was arrested on March 8 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing identification. She was also processed on four bond-forfeiture warrants, two out of cook County, one from will County, and one from DuPage County. The arrest occurred when a detectives patrolling in the first block of Sycamore Drive observed a suspicious vehicle enter the parking lot of a church. The officer said there were no church services going on and no other vehicles around at the time. Fantasia was a passenger in the vehicle.

A number of prescription medications valued at $200 were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Springfield Street on March 8. The medications had been left in the vehicle overnight.

A purse valued at $100 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of Woodland Glen on March 8. The purse had been left in the vehicle overnight.

Two credit cards and approximately $50 cash were reported stolen from a vehicle that had been left unlocked in the first block of Thorn Creek Drive on March 8.

A silver and black Samsung mobile phone and charger valued at $100 and a brown leather wallet containing a debit card were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 400 block of Talala Street on March 8.

A Garman GPS valued at $150 was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 400 block of Talala Street on March 8.

A juvenile was arrested on March 8 and charged with aggravated assault when officers working at Rich East High School were asked to assist a fellow officer when the juvenile became confrontational with the third officer, according to police.

A juvenile was arrested on March 9 and processed on charges of disorderly conduct, aggravated battery to a police officer, and resisting arrest when an officer working at Rich East High School as a police liaison officer was summoned to the hallway outside of the Dean’s office to assist with a student who police say was acting belligerent, causing a disturbance, and acting out of character.

A front window of a residence in the 200 block of Minocqua Street was reported shattered on March 10.

A window of a residence in the 400 block of Shabbona Drive was discovered to be shattered when police responded to that residence to investigate a residential burglar alarm. It did not appear that anyone had made entry to the residence, according to police.

A dark blue Toshiba laptop valued at $900, a Nikon digital camera valued at $500, a Nikon digital camera valued at $200, a white gold diamond-studded man’s wedding band valued at $1499.99, two two-way radios valued at $89.99, a Blackberry Torch cell phone valued at $290, a Blue Ray video player valued at $85, and a gray pet cat with black stripes valued at $150 were reported stolen from a residence in the first block of Blackhawk Drive on March 11.

Cortez D. Donaldson, 20, 5747 S. Honore St., Chicago, was arrested and charged with possession of ammunition without a valid FOID card. Donaldson was a passenger in a vehicle traveling northbound on Allegheny Street from 26th Street which, according to police, had no rear registration light. The observing officer also saw the vehicle turn west onto Algonquin Street without using a turn signal. The driver of the vehicle was issued citations charging no rear registration light, disregarding a traffic control device, and failure to signal when required.

Daniel A. Sigers, 23, 238 Gentry St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 11 and charged with keeping a disorderly house when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Gentry Street in reference to a report of loud music.

Lane W. Jones, 33, 572 16th St., Chicago Heights, was arrested on March 11 and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving while license was revoked, disobeying a stop sign, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, speeding over the posted speed limit, and failure to signal when required. Shortly after midnight on March 11, an officer patrolling in the area of Western Avenue and 26th Street observed the vehicle Jones was driving traveling northbound on Western Avenue at a high rate of speed, according to police. The officer’s radar registered the vehicle traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.

Police say $160 cash and a blue Sprint cellular phone valued at $75 were stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Jackson Street on March 11.

An Xbox game system valued at $250 was reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Dogwood Street on March 12.

Approximately $960 in jewelry was reported stolen from a residence in the 100 block of Nanti Street on March 12.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the first block of Park Street on March 12.

A Dell Inspiron laptop valued at $600, a Sony HDTV valued at $400, a 40-inch Sony HDTV valued at $949.99, a diamond necklace valued at $200, an Xbox 360 game system and an Xbox game valued at $250, were reported stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Indianwood Boulevard on March 11.

A checkbook and medical cards were reported stolen from a purse left in a security room of a business in the 200 block of Forest Boulevard on March 13.

A juvenile was arrested and charged with battery when police were dispatched to the Park Forest Police Department to investigate a battery complaint.

A gray four-door 2008 Chevrolet Impala, Illinois registration X429460, was reported stolen from the 100 block of Lester Road on March 13.

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Main Street on March 13 to investigate an attempted strong arm robbery which had just occurred. Police spoke to the victim who described the alleged offender as a male subject of medium build, approximately 5’4″, 30 to 40 years of age, wearing dark clothing, and had a clean-cut Afro. Detectives are investigating.

Michael D. Green, 57, 381 Dogwood St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 14 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Dogwood Street in reference to a report of a domestic disturbance.

Police discovered a broken laundry room window when they were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Nassau Street on March 14 in response to a burglar alarm. Police searched the interior of the residence with negative results. Nothing appeared to be missing, according to the resident.

A cell phone charger for an LG phone was reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of South Orchard Drive on March 14.

Police discovered fresh graffiti on the north wall of a building in Blackhawk Plaza on March 14.

Two dogs were removed from a home in the 200 block of Allegheny Street when an officer was dispatched in response to reports of a loose dog chasing people. The officer determined that one of the dogs, a white male pit bull, appeared to be in poor condition, malnourished and covered in feces. The other dog at the property was discovered to be in poor condition but not as severe as the first dog. The dogs were transported to Forest South Animal Hospital and are being held for investigation at this time, according to police. The dogs’ owner, Sheriece R. Harris, 293 Allegheny St., Park Forest, was issued three citations charging cruelty, no collar, and no rabies vaccination. All three citations were sent to that address via certified mail and a note was left at the residence instructing the owner how she might get her animals back, according to police.

Matthew M. Unruh, 20, 321 Herndon St., Park Forest, was arrested on March 15 and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis when an officer observed a vehicle parked completely over the sidewalk in the 100 block of Indiana Street.

An iPhone valued at $500 was reported stolen from a woman who drove to Indiana Street in Park Forest so that she could meet with her boyfriend. The incident occurred on March 15. Police say the woman’s boyfriend entered the vehicle and they began having an argument over relationship issues, at which point the boyfriend took the iPhone and left the vehicle. Police have suspect information and are investigating.
