Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

A resident in the first block of Fir Street discovered an unknown male subject on his back porch attempting to steal his bicycle on August 10. He yelled at the subject, "What the hell are you doing?" The subject ran away.
A resident told police on August 11 that his bank alerted him to suspicious activity on his bank account. The resident discovered four transactions in excess of $400 which he told police were fraudulent.
A 14 karat gold bracelet valued at $1200, a 14 karat gold bracelet valued at $750, a watch valued at $1400, and a gold ring with diamonds valued at $350 are among items reported stolen during a residential burglary in the first block of Leims Road on August 13.
A purse, accidentally left on a bench in Downtown Park Forest, was returned to the owner on August 14 when the owner returned to the Downtown area. The owner of the purse discovered that $70 had been taken from her wallet. The person who returned the purse provided an accurate name for herself to the owner. She told the owner of the purse that she found it on the ground.
The glass of a door of a modular classroom in the 100 block of Blackhawk Drive was reported shattered on August 13.
Tysheka L. Strong, 26, 6738 S. Artesian Ave., Chicago, was arrested on August 14 and charged with assault when police were dispatched to the intersection of Arrowhead Street and Antioch Place to investigate a report of a disturbance.
The rim of a basketball hoop, valued at $125, was reported stolen from the north side of the Aqua Center on August 14.
The rear window of a vehicle parked in the 500 block of Davis Street was reported shattered on August 14.
A resident reported credit card fraud at the Park Forest Police Department on August 14.
Jose D. Oliver Jr., 24, 9 Apple Ln., Park Forest, was arrested on August 14 and charged with reckless driving and three counts of endangering the life of a child when police were dispatched to the intersection of Sauk Trail and Meota Street to investigate a traffic accident.
Nicholas D. Vermillion, 32, 586 Diane Ct., Lockport, IL, was arrested on August 14 and charged with speeding over the statutory limit and no valid driver’s license when an officer patrolling northbound on Western Avenue from 26th Street observed a vehicle traveling 49-50 mph, according to his squad car’s radar, police said.
The rear window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Nanti Street was reported shattered on August 15.
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Hemlock Street on August 15 when the owner of a residence observed the door to his residence to be unlocked and, upon entering, discovered a male subject inside. A window to the residence had been forced open, according to police.
Romalle L. Laird, 34, 309 Sioux St., Park Forest, was arrested on August 18 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Nassau Street to meet with a victim reporting domestic battery that allegedly occurred in the 300 block of Sioux Street.
Police were dispatched to a business in the first block of Main Street to investigate a report of retail theft on August 18.
The passenger side window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Lester Street was reported shattered on August 18.
Derek L. Williams, 29, 13 Hemlock St., Park Forest, was arrested on August 19 and charged with retail theft when police were dispatched to a business in the first block of Main Street to investigate a report of retail theft.
Police were dispatched to the lobby of the Park Forest Police Department on August 20 to investigate a report of credit card fraud. A resident told police that his bank had contacted him because there was suspicious activity noticed on his bank card with transactions taking place in several different states. The resident reported that he had not lost his card and it was accounted for during the times of the transactions, according to police.
Alexander P. Garcia, 22, 433 Navajo St., Park Forest, was arrested on August 20 and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer when police were dispatched to the 400 block of Suwanee Street to conduct a premise exam.
A red and black gas-powered mini-bike was reported stolen from the 400 block of Main Street on August 20.
The rear license plate of a vehicle parked in the first block of McGarity Road was reported stolen on August 20.
Jarrod L. Huskey Jr., 21, 426 N. Strieff Lane, Glenwood, was arrested on August 21and issued a municipal citation charging possession of cannabis and a traffic citation charging speeding when an officer conducting stationary radar in the 2900 block of Western Avenue observed a vehicle traveling northbound on Western Avenue approaching Birch Street at 49 mph in a posted 35 mph zone, according to police.
An Xbox and two pairs of athletic shoes were reported stolen from an unlocked residence in the 300 block of Ash Street on August 21.
A resident told police on August 22 that someone had used his debit card to purchase approximately $297.23 of food and merchandise in and around the Fort Worth, Texas area, between the dates of August 13, 2015 and August 17, 2015. The resident told police that he had not been to Texas and over a year and does not know how someone acquired his account information.
Approximately $5.00 worth of miscellaneous change and several items of clothing were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 300 block of Wildwood Drive on August 22.
The front window of a residence in the first block of McGarity Road was reported shot through with a BB gun on August 23.
