Community Alert Update Regarding Multiple Burglaries to Unlocked Vehicles in Park Forest

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Park Forest police issued Saturday the following update to the community alert posted last week regarding multiple burglaries to unlocked vehicles:

"The following is an update to our June 8th community alert related to multiple burglaries to unlocked vehicles in the multi-family areas along Western Avenue: In the early morning hours of June 9th, a 35 year-old male subject was arrested as he was breaking into unlocked cars in Chicago Heights, IL. Evidence from that scene linked this individual to vehicle burglaries that occurred in Park Forest on June 6th. That individual has been charged with Burglary to Motor Vehicle. He remains the primary suspect in many similar incidents and additional charges may potentially be filed. Park Forest Police Detectives continue to investigate the incidents.

"The Park Forest Police would like to thank residents for their assistance, and to use this opportunity to remind residents to lock the doors on their vehicles, not leave valuable items within view inside their vehicles, and to immediately report any suspicious persons or activities."
