Report: School District 227 Candidate Komaa S. Mnyofu Is A Convicted Felon

Writing for the Chicago Tribune’s Daily Southtown, reporter Gregory Pratt states that "A controversial south suburban activist is running for a seat on a school board from which he’s made hundreds of thousands of dollars suing.

"Komaa Mnyofu, a Rich Township High School District 227 board candidate, is also a convicted felon who was found guilty in 1999 of child abduction under another name: Tyler Jones."

According to the report:

"The judge found that keeping the child out of school and not returning him to his mother "showed specific intent to avoid the terms of the visitation and custody court order," an appeals record shows.

"He was sentenced to 30 months of probation, records show.

"District 227 serves students from Chicago Heights, Country Club Hills, Matteson, Olympia Fields, Park Forest, Richton Park, Tinley Park and University Park."
