Park Forest Police Statement on Jan. 2 Death of Pedestrian on 26th St.


Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Park Forest Police Department issued the following statement regarding the Friday evening death of Albert Valdez, age 53, of Chicago Heights, the pedestrian who was truck by a vehicle traveling on 26th Street across from Ash Street::

The Park Forest Police Department and the South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team (SSMART) are investigating a fatal traffic crash involving a pedestrian which occurred on 26th St. near Ash St. in Park Forest on Friday, January 2, 2015 at approximately 7PM. The victim has been identified as Albert Valdez, age 53, of Chicago Heights, who died after being transported to St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights Campus, for emergency medical treatment. The identity of the driver of the vehicle that struck Mr. Valdez is being withheld while the investigation is ongoing, but will be released upon conclusion of the investigation, along with any findings.

As the investigation by Park Forest Police Department detectives and members of the South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team continues, the Park Forest Police Department offers their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Valdez.
