Inaugural Women Veterans Fair set for October 27th at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill.


Child-friendly event to help improve access to resources and benefits

CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–October 17, 2012.  The Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) announced today that the College of DuPage will be the site of its first Illinois Women Veterans Fair, which is set to begin at 12 noon on Saturday, Oct. 27th.

This child-friendly event promises to be an exciting, impactful program with a full slate of informational sessions and broad participation from federal, state, local, and non-profit entities serving women veterans.

It also intends to draw together the community of Illinois Women Veterans to educate them about resources at their disposal and to generate discussion and awareness on the issues they face, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Military Sexual Trauma (MST), resiliency, and transitioning back into civilian life.

The event will take place in the Student Services Center at the College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
