Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–October 21, 2014. Today, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth (IL-08) announced that the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) to Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg and Mount Prospect in the amounts of $251,367.00, $307,536.00 and $271,504.00 respectively.
The Community Development Block Grant program provides funding to state and local governments for various community needs like affordable housing and expanded economic opportunities.
“I am proud that Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg and Mount Prospect are receiving the Community Development Block Grant,” said Congresswoman Duckworth. “These grants are vital to improving our communities and making the 8th District a great place to live, work and raise a family. The taxpayers of Illinois contribute more than their fair share to the Federal government and I am pleased to see that resources are coming back to the 8th Congressional District.”
