Update: An earlier version of this article said The Sapphire Lounge would open tomorrow, September 13, at 8:00 a.m., for breakfast. While the restaurant will open for breakfast soon, that likely will not happen until next week sometime. We will keep readers updated.

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Park Foresters have longed for a restaurant in town.

They're getting all that, and then some, with the opening of the "Sapphire Lounge."

Walking inside the new restaurant/billiard hall/jazz & song club/Karaoke lounge and more, visitors will likely feel that they stepped inside a fine restaurant in Chicago.

The interior is exquisite. There's a VIP room, a stage, a restaurant, a posh pool room, a bar, and more to come. From the specially-designed lighting over raised tables to the stained wood walls to the hard wood floor, the decor sparkles.

There are seven flat-screen televisions over the bar.

And meal prices are very reasonable, with burgers starting at $7.00 for the Portabella, to $10 for the Panko Encrusted Shrimp Po Boy. Sandwiches include a choice of house garlic herb fries, crispy tater tots, sweet potato fries, or a cup of soup.

The size of one of the burgers I saw was, well, more than generous.

The restaurant also serves a variety of appetizers and dinners, as well as sandwiches, wraps, and flat breads.

Owner Ed Hiller told eNews Park Forest that his intention is to add specials to the menu on a regular basis.

Countess, a singer and director of entertainment, said there will be a live show at half-time during Sunday Bear games (beginning with this Sunday), and the live entertainment will continue after the game.

Tuesday, Countess says, is Karaoke night.

The establishment will be open Wednesday, September 11, beginning at lunch, and thereafter from lunch on. Next week sometime, look for The Sapphire Lounge to begin opening for breakfast also.
