WASHINGTON, D.C.--(ENEWSPF)--January 29, 2013. U.S. Senator Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) released the following statement upon the Senate's confirmation of John Kerry to be Secretary of State:
"I congratulate Senator Kerry on his confirmation. I look forward to working with him to strengthen our national security, promote American values abroad and support our democratic allies."
Senator Kirk is a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on State-Foreign Operations, which oversees all State Department funding and foreign assistance.
