Representative DeLuca Inaugurated into 98th General Assembly

SPRINGFIELD—(ENEWSPF)—January 9, 2013.  Promising to continue his efforts to promote job creation, encourage fiscal responsibility and protect area residents, state Representative Anthony DeLuca (D-Chicago Heights) was sworn into office on Wednesday.

“It is an honor and privilege to serve the people of the district,” DeLuca said.  “I am excited to continue pushing for legislation that improves our economy and creates an environment for private sector job growth.  We have a lot to do and I look forward to continuing my hard work for this community.”

Over the past two years, DeLuca supported meaningful legislation to expand the Freedom of Information Act, broaden the state Ethics Act, and cut his own pay.  DeLuca has also sponsored important legislation aimed at protecting the public by amending the Sex Offender Registration Act to add mandatory registration with an institute of higher education if a sex offender attends or is employed by the institution.

Representative DeLuca looks forward to continuing his service and being a voice to his constituents.  One of his main priorities has been public safety, and he plans on continuing to be a strong voice of public safety moving forward.

“I will strive to continue my work protecting seniors, children, and veterans, preventing domestic abuse, and cracking down on online predators,” DeLuca Said.  “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as state Representative and look forward to working for our area.”
