Matteson, Ill--(ENEWSPF)--Decmeber 11, 2012. Statement from Robin Kelly, candidate for Congress in the 2nd District of Illinois, regarding today's ruling by U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals that repealed the ban of concealed weapons in Illinois:
"Protecting families from gun violence must be a top priority for our next member of congress. Today's decision by the court of appeals allowing concealed weapons in our parks, near our schools, and on our streets brings into clear focus just how important and timely this issue is. Unlike others in this race, I have been a consistent voice in standing up to the National Rifle Association and their shortsighted policies that put our families at risk. Other candidates may talk about the importance of reducing gun violence, but by standing with the NRA they are making the problem worse. We deserve better."
