Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–Editor’s Note: We continue our reporting on news from police reports. Besides covering the many stories from around Park Forest that otherwise might go unnoticed, we want to bring more complete coverage of police reports than is reported by other local media.

An arrest does not mean that a person is guilty. All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Two juveniles were arrested on May 16 and charged with residential burglary when police were dispatched to the 300 block of Niagara Street to investigate a report of residential burglary. While investigating at the scene, police noticed shoe impressions in the grass of the backyard near a window that had been broken. Officer Kessler, a K-9 officer, utilized his K-9 partner "Toby" and gave him the command to track. The dog led police to the front door of another residence in the 300 block of Neola Street where he laid down with his nose pointed at the front door. Officers were permitted to search the house and found several items in the bedroom of one of the juveniles. Items found include a Social Security card, a Smith & Wesson black BB gun, a 22 caliber round of ammunition, a jewelry case which contained a gold necklace with a diamond sphere and a matching set of earrings, and two sets of gold hoop-style earrings. Recovered from an upstairs attic was an Xbox 360 videogame console, a Gibson Les Paul left-handed electric guitar, a 42-inch Dynex flat-screen television, and a white and blue mongoose bicycle. Police further recovered a Dell laptop computer, a Nintendo DS light hand-held videogame, and a gold necklace from a spare bedroom.

A juvenile was arrested on May 21 and issued a municipal citation charging battery when an officer working at Rich East High School was advised to report to the Police Liaison office in reference to a battery incident.

Police recovered a 2001 white Yamaha ATV that had been reported stolen out of Gary, Indiana, on August 24, 2011. The vehicle was found on May 22 in Allegheny Court where a witness told police he observed a subject pushed the ATV into Allegheny Court.

Two juveniles were arrested on May 22 and charged after police responded to the 100 block of Westwood Drive to investigate a residential burglary. One of the juveniles was charged with residential burglary and possession of a stolen credit card, the other was charged with possession of stolen property in excess of $500 and attempted escape.

Police were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on May 22 to investigate multiple 911 calls that had been received referencing a large fight between groups of persons. While en route, police were advised that someone had displayed a gun. Upon arrival, officers observed a large group of adults scattered throughout the area with one group retreating westbound towards a residence. Police were advised by one passerby that a man pulled out two guns during a fight that started at the intersection of Allegheny Street at Antioch Place. Detectives are investigating.

Police advised a resident regarding identity theft procedures after police responded to the Park Forest Police Department on May 22 to investigate a report of theft and loss to property. A resident told police that, after leaving his residence in the first block of Abbey Lane, he placed his wallet and cell phone on the roof of his vehicle when he unlocked his car. He then drove off, later finding his wallet and discovering that two credit cards and his driver’s license were missing.

Police say a man drove off in a high rate of speed on May 23 after an officer observed a driver not wearing a seatbelt while patrolling in the area of Western Avenue and Algonquin Street. The officer actually curbed the vehicle but when he got out of his patrol car, the driver sped off. Police have a description of the vehicle.

A pair of “True Religion” pants valued at $200 and a baseball cap valued at $25 were reported stolen from a business in the 300 block of Main Street on May 23. Police have suspect information.

A red air compressor valued at $150 and a package of cookies were reported stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Allegheny Street on May 24.

A juvenile was arrested on May 24 and charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest when an officer patrolling in the 200 block of Allegheny Street detained a second juvenile who was wanted for questioning in connection with another incident.

An Opal and diamond earrings valued at $1050, a 1/2 karat white gold and diamond ring valued at $1500, a cultured pearl bracelet valued at $200, an Italian gold bracelet with precious stones valued at $300, an 18 inch cultured Pearl necklace valued at $500, and somewhere between $1200 and $1500 cash were reported stolen from a residence in the 400 block of Indiana Street on May 24. Police say a man knocked on the door the residence and told the resident that he was doing some work at the retention pond located behind the property. The resident walked with the unknown man to the rear of the residence, at which point a second man entered her house and stole the items, according to police.

A juvenile was arrested on May 24 and charged with unlawful use of a weapon when police were dispatched to Forest Trail Middle School, 215 Wilson Street, in reference to a report of a student with a firearm. A staff member suspected the student was concealing something illegal in his locker and refused to open it for her. A member of the administration opened the locker and discovered a black semi-automatic Bursa Thunder .380 pistol.

Lonnie E. Williams, 38, 363 Minocqua St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 25 and charged with a Class X felony of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor of possession of unsterilized or vicious dogs by a felon, and a Class C misdemeanor of possession of cannabis. The South Suburban Emergency Response Team (SSERT) executed a search warrant at that address at approximately 5:17 AM. Police discovered a bag containing an off-white rock-like substance, suspect crack cocaine, along with three other bags containing the same substance, $746 cash, a silver digital scale containing white powdery residue, suspect cocaine, and four baggies containing a green leafy-like substance, suspect cannabis, among other items, according to police.

A juvenile was arrested on May 26 and charged with possession of stolen property after police were dispatched to Somonauk Park when a resident called advising police that he had seen two juveniles riding his motorscooter, which he had previously reported stolen.

Ivan G. Williams, 30, 917 Notre Dame Dr., Matteson, was arrested on May 25 and processed on an outstanding warrant from the Matteson Police Department charging failure to appear when police responded to the 100 block of Indiana Street to investigate a report of a burglary in progress. Williams was also charged with having a suspended driver’s license, no insurance, and issued a citation charging failure to display a front license plate regarding his vehicle which was parked at the scene.

Four "Size Matters" 3-blade chrome rims with 255/30R26 tires valued at $3800 were reported stolen from a residence in the 500 block of Davis Street on May 26.

A concrete sculpture valued at $100 was reported stolen from the front entrance of a residence in the 300 block of Oakwood Street on May 26.

Maria Mickey, 31, 452 Lakewood Blvd., Park Forest, as was arrested on May 26 and issued a citation charging unlawful visitation interference when police were dispatched to the 400 block of Lakewood Boulevard to investigate an unlawful visitation interference complaint.

A resident discovered a bag containing a PlayStation 3 game system while mowing her lawn in the 200 block of Indiana Street on May 28. The resident called police and the responding officer had knowledge of a residential burglary that had been reported in the 300 block of Springfield Street on May 27. The resident at that address identified the bag and the game that had been stolen from her residence. The items will be returned to the victim.

Shakeim A. McMillian, 26, 155 Algonquin St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 28 and charged with domestic battery when police were dispatched to the first block of Norwood Boulevard in reference to a report of domestic battery.

A juvenile was issued a municipal citation charging disorderly conduct on May 28 when police were dispatched to the 100 block of Forest Boulevard in reference to a report of a disturbance.

Donald D. Henderson, 22, 213 Washington St., Park Forest, was arrested on May 28 and charged with possession of cannabis, having an obstructed windshield, and driver’s license not on person when an officer patrolling in the area of Western Avenue and 26th Street observed that the vehicle Henderson was driving eastbound on 26th Street had an obstructed windshield, according to police.

Fifteen catalytic converters valued at $22,500 total were reported stolen from a business in the 2200 block of Western Avenue on May 29.

A residence in the 300 block of Meota Street was reported burglarized on May 29. Police were at the entrance of Marquette Park on Minocqua Street where someone had reported finding a camera in the grass when they were approached by a resident who related that his house had been burglarized. Police investigated and discovered that several dresser drawers were open and items had been thrown on the floor in a bedroom. Police say the man told them that a door to the residence may have been left unlocked. Nothing was reported missing.

A resident told police at the Park Forest Police Department on May 30 that he received a call from a debt collection agency stating that he had an outstanding balance of $518.43 on an Ameritech account. The man told police he never had an Ameritech account and wished to report identity theft.

A juvenile told police that he was robbed of $57 cash by another juvenile while riding his bicycle westbound on 26th Street toward Western Avenue on May 30. Police are investigating.
