Previous Early Voting, Vote by Mail and total Pre-Election Day records surpassed
Chicago, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Pre-Election Day voting – which consists of Early Voting, Grace Period Voting and Mail Voting – has reached over 438,212 ballots. The previous record of 273,661 was set in the 2012 Presidential Election.
The last day of Early Voting in suburban Cook County saw over 42,107 voters cast ballots throughout the Clerk’s 52 Early Voting sites. The large turnout surpassed the previous single-day record of 29,968 set on November 4, 2016.
The total number of ballots cast in this year’s Early Voting process reached 357,982 – a 56.5 percent increase from the 2012 record of 228,695.
A total of 6,691 voted early at Park Forest Village Hall between October 24 and November 7.
Suburban Cook County also saw a dramatic increase in the amount of Mail Ballots requested and returned from suburban voters in the November 8 Presidential Election with over 113,375 ballots requested and 69,270 already received by the Clerk’s office.
