Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- In order to educate local seniors of the community about the I-Cash Program, fraud protection and other items, state Rep. Anthony DeLuca, D-Chicago Heights, held a Senior Information Fair and Ice Cream Social at the Frankfort Township Building on Monday.

DeLuca sent a statement about the fair and ice cream social.

“I enjoy sitting down and talking with seniors throughout the community about any concerns or problems they might be having,” DeLuca said. “Our seniors deserve access to the programs that help keep them safe and healthy, and it remains a top priority of mine to ensure that our seniors are taken care of.”

DeLuca recently supported the budget that provides funding for vital senior services across the state. The bipartisan plan fully funds the Community Care Program, which provides in-home health care to seniors.

The programs costs significantly less than nursing home facilities, and increases the number of seniors who can receive assistance, an important aspect of senior living, allowing people to maintain their independence.

The budget also increases funding for Meals on Wheels to ensure that home-bound seniors still have access to meals throughout the week.
