The Women’s March on Washington is ON! It was never off. It was never blocked. The organizers had to go through the same hoops as everyone else.  Yes, the Presidential Inaugural Committee had been granted a block reservation for most of the National Mall. That happens every four years, no matter who is elected.

The Women’s March on Washington will be marching to represent all those who have felt offended and demonized by the rhetoric of the past election cycle and they will be marching to make a statement that we will stand together in solidarity, recognizing that an attack against one of us is an attack against all of us.

Come March with Us on January 21, 2017 in Washington!

“The Women’s March on Washington, which is scheduled for the day after the Jan. 20 inauguration, plans to start its rally at Independence Avenue and Third Street SW, in front of the Capitol. From there, demonstrators will march west along Independence, although organizers said that they have yet to determine an official route.

“Ultimately we want to have the attention focused on Congress and lifting up our concerns to them,” said Janaye Ingram, the head of logistics for the Women’s March on Washington, adding that organizers are also committed to sending their message of women’s equality to all levels and branches of government. She said that she thinks the group has identified a “valid, workable route.”
