Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Where is the big tent? Where’s the Pankatron? What happened to Pancake Day? Is it all gone?

No, it’s not all gone at all. As the signs throughout the village have pointed this week, as stories have said here on ENEWSPF, Pancake Day is still on. The locale, however, has changed, migrating to an indoor venue, not far, just south of Sauk Trail.

The Kiwanis Club of Park Forest will launch its 61st Annual Pancake Day, emphasizing personalized services, in a new indoor format in the dining facilities at Celebration Ministries (formerly Hope Lutheran Church – see map below) at 424 Indianwood Blvd., on Saturday, September 22, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Guests will enjoy attentive service, greater comfort, and the usual south suburban camaraderie that permeates all pancake days. Golden pancakes will be prepared at 4 independent pancake cooking stations and Kiwanis ‘certified’ sausages will be baked in kitchen ovens in rapid response to instantaneous demand.

Kiwanis Pancake Day is being transformed from the "Pankatron" years to an even more personalized and responsive serving of high quality pancakes and sausages. Come and enjoy our new i-pancakes! Tickets still include all the pancakes and sausage you can eat, and coffee and milk to drink.

Pre-sale tickets can be purchased at the Park Forest Farmers Market, Park Forest Art Fair, Park Forest Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive, or Tower Cleaners, 230 Forest Boulevard.

Pre-sale tickets are priced at $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12. The day of the event, tickets will be priced at $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Kiwanis Club of Park Forest’s community activities.

Come one, come all. Tomorrow is the day.
