Volunteers Sought For Clean Up Our Parks Day, May 20

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Park Forest Recreation and Parks Advisory Board and the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will host Clean Up Our Parks Day on Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Park Forest’s Central Park.

Planned projects include painting backstops, clearing brush and spreading playground mulch, planting flowers, and more. Work will be concentrated in Park Forest’s Central Park, Winnebago Park, and Eastgate Park.

Already committed to provide support for the event are over 130 members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., members from two local Girl Scout troops, members of the Park Forest Kiwanis Club, and a number of area residents.

Those interested in providing additional volunteer support are asked to meet at the Central Park pavilion, located on Lakewood Boulevard in Park Forest, at 9 a.m. for assignments.

Food will be served to volunteers following the event.
