The next meeting of the Sauk-Calumet Sierra Club Group will be on Monday, April 9th, at the Frankfort Public Library, 21119 Pfeiffer Rd. in Frankfort at 7:15 pm.

The program at this meeting will feature Andy Neill, a biologist at Joliet Junior College.  Neill is spearheading the movement to protect a rare wetland on land owned by the College, called a fen.  He will show slides of some of the rare plants and animals that inhabit this small but unique place.  The site is currently threatened by development.  After the presentation attendees will learn some simple things they can do to help protect this rare habitat.

All meetings are open to members and the general public.  For more info or for questions about the Club and it activities email Patrick Coffey at [email protected].
