Clothing, Shoe Recycling at Park Forest Farmers’ Market Beginning June 14

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)–May 18, 2014.  The Park Forest Farmers’ Market will now offer clothing and shoe recycling services from 9 a.m. to noon every second Saturday through September.

The dates when accepted items may be dropped off are:
– June 14
– July 12
– August 9
– September 13

USAgain, a green, for-profit company committed to protecting the environment, conserving resources, and creating green sector jobs through the collection of textiles for reuse and recycling, has agreed to collect residents’ old shoes and clothing at the Market.

Items dropped off will be diverted from landfills to be re-worn, reused or recycled – reducing the carbon footprint of residents.

Accepted items include men’s, women’s and kids’ shoes, boots and clothing as well as gloves, hats, bags, purses and belts. Sheets, blankets, drapes and towels are also welcome.

About the Park Forest Farmers’ Market
Since 1974, the Park Forest Farmers’ Market has been connecting area residents with local farmers, food vendors and businesses. The Market hosts 22 full spaces with a variety of fresh flowers, fresh fruits and vegetables, bakery goods, herbs and dairy products. Local businesses are also on hand at the Market selling artwork, garden ornaments, jewelry and more.

The Park Forest Farmers’ Market accepts EBT/Link, WIC, and Senior Nutrition Coupons.

The Market is open Saturdays, May through October, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
