The performances will be captured for fans beyond the venue, courtesy of Google+, the sharing and communications platform that brings real-world interactions online.

The Google+ Hangout will also facilitate an interactive discussion between musicians on location, celebrities and veterans about their personal perspectives on the importance of supporting the veteran community.

“We’re excited to work with Google for this year’s Stand Up For Heroes event to give the American public the chance to connect to post 9/11 veterans and celebrities. This will orchestrate a new level of engagement between performers, veterans and fans,” said Anne Marie Dougherty, executive director of the Bob Woodruff Foundation.

The Google+ Hangout will be available on the Bob Woodruff Foundation Google+ page and the Bob Woodruff YouTube channel, and will be posted for fans to view after the event.

The Stand Up For Heroes event—brought to you by the Veterans on Wall Street (VOWS) and supported by founding sponsor GFI Group, Inc.—will bring together leaders from the business, entertainment, the military, government and philanthropy to raise funds to help post-9/11 injured service members and their families thrive long after they return to the home front.
