Family Health and Wellness Fair at Governors State University on April 26


University Park, Ill.—(ENEWSPF)—April 10, 2014. The health of the entire family, especially the children, is the theme of the Family Health and Wellness Fair at Governors State University on April 26 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. “Spring into Wellness – Empowering Healthy Families” is free and open to everyone.

The fair presents resources for health and wellness for the entire family. Qualified professionals will provide general physicals for children. Developmental screenings will also be offered in speech, hearing, and physical development. Experts will also provide information on affordable healthcare options and available community services. Children will enjoy a crafts and activities table and there will be raffles, give-aways and samples.

Resources will be provided by the following participants: Advocate South Suburban Hospital, Aunt Martha’s Head Start, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois,

Child and Family Connections #15, Child Health Life, Easter Seals of Metropolitan Chicago (Child and Family Connections #12), Good Shepherd Center, Governors State University College of Health and Human Services including faculty and students from the departments of Communications Disorders, Health Administration,  Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy, Lakeshore, Park Forest Health Department- Nurses Plus Home Health Care, Respond Now, South Suburban Family Shelter, State of Illinois- Illinois Attorney General’s Office and Will County Health Department.

The Family Health and Wellness Fair is sponsored by Governors State University Family Development Center, Early Head Start and the Health Services Advisory Council.

Governor State University is located at 1 University Parkway, University Park, Illinois. Enter through the main entrance. Parking is free.
