Event to Benefit South Suburban Family Shelter

Homewood, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Looking for a great excuse to sample the fine restaurants in the area?  South suburban residents can dine out for a cause on December 1 and 2 at seven Chicago Southland restaurants.  South Suburban Family Shelter (SSFS) is hosting its Sixth Annual Dine Out for Domestic Violence Prevention and Awareness on Tuesday, Dec. 1 and Wednesday, Dec. 2.

Dine Out for Domestic Violence began in 2004 at south suburban restaurants to raise funds for the SSFS as well as to promote prevention and awareness of domestic violence.

“Four million incidents of domestic violence are reported every year in our country, yet it is estimated that 90 percent of victims do not report abuse,” said Diane Bedrosian, executive director at SSFS.  “Along with securing the financial resources to help victims, we need to spread the word that domestic violence must not be tolerated.”

Cilantro Restaurant Cocina Mexicana in Homewood will participate in Dine Out 2009 on both Tuesday, Dec. 1 and Wednesday, Dec. 2.  Restaurants participating in Dine Out on Tuesday, Dec. 1 are Bamboo Blue in Homewood, Courtyard Bistro in Frankfort; Fresh Starts Restaurant in Homewood, Bergstein’s NY Delicatessen in Chicago Heights and Flossmoor Station Brewing Company in Flossmoor.  Isabella Café in Tinley Park will participate in Dine Out on Wednesday, Dec. 2.
