“The GOP is well on its way to laying a firm foundation to launch a major shake-up of the political establishment in Washington, DC. Log Cabin Republicans represents thousands of committed gays & lesbians Republicans who are dedicated to the cause of limited government, personal responsibility, a strong national defense and individual freedoms. The RNC should be looking for ways to spread our inclusive message, rather than turning its back on committed, conservative, qualified candidates,” comments Log Cabin Republicans Board Chairman Terry W. Hamilton.

“It is disturbing that distinguished members of the Republican National Committee would be considering an article that President Ronald Reagan would abhor – a litmus test covering a range of issues that would do nothing but drive people away from our Party who are not deemed ‘pure’ enough to be an endorsed candidate,” states Log Cabin Republicans National Spokesperson Charles T. Moran. “Log Cabin Republicans is committed to recruiting and supporting candidates who share our view that an inclusive party will return us to victory. President Reagan often referenced that our party’s strength lies in what unites us. We believe that only an inclusive agenda is the key to returning the GOP to the majority.”

Log Cabin Republicans promotes legislation to provide basic fairness for gay and lesbian Americans and works to build a more inclusive GOP. The 30-year old organization has state and local chapters nationwide, a full-time office in Washington, DC, a federal political action committee and state political action committees.
