Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— The Park Forest Nurses Club meets on the third Thursday of each month from September through May at 7:30 pm at Calvary United Protestant Church. Professional speakers are featured at each meeting. We will begin the 2010-11 year with our annual smorgasbord at 6:30 pm September 16. Our guest speaker , Lois Roelofs, PhD, RN, Professor Emerita, Trinity Christian College, Palos Heights, IL., will discuss her newly released memoir, "Caring Lessons: A Nursing Professor's Journey of Faith and and Self" " Caring Lessons" tells the story of a rebellious minister's daughter, reluctant nurse, restless mom, perpetual student, and , eventually ,fun-loving teacher of psychiatric nursing. The Park Forest Nurses Club has awarded nursing scholarships annually to students who reside in School Districts 227, 206, and 201U since 1957. Scholarship winners are selected on the basis of grade point average, citizenship qualities and goal achievement. The scholarships may be renewed each year for students who continue in nursing programs.
